The Flourist is a pasta bistro and bakery brand concept designed to capture the homey, cozy vibe of handmade, artisanal food.

As a foodie, I’ve always loved looking at the design of menus, logos, packaging, and the store itself. If there’s one thing I’d like to change, it would be the designs for places with handmade food. I’ve always thought they lacked art. Art to emphasize the intricate process; art to express the care that went into the production; art to highlight the uniqueness of every item.

So I pictured a pasta bistro that rolls its pasta early every morning and delivers fresh batches of artisanal pastry throughout the day. I imagined the posters hanging on the wall and stickers that would cozy up the space for customers.

The sketchy, rough illustration gives off the rustic vibe I was looking for. I drew pasta and pastries, which I had imagined to be posters and sticker sheets.

How cool would it be if a pasta bistro had posters of pasta ingredients? I took the saying “always room for dessert” and turned it on its head. I added colors that remind me of pasta and its creamy sauce. I am, in fact, salivating right now.

Another set of posters, but for pastries, with pastry colors, pastry ingredients, and a pastry tagline.
